UCR CHICANO ALUMNI ASSOCIATION -
Organizational Purpose
For those who are not familiar with the Chicano Alumni Association, the following is why we exist:
- It shall be the primary purpose of the UCR Chicano Alumni to encourage and support Chicano students enrolling or continuing their educational objectives at the University of California, Riverside.
- In its efforts to assist in the development of educational resources, both in the private and public sector, the organization will offer scholarships, cooperate in recruitment activities and promote community awareness and participation in the UCR Chicano Alumni's purpose and function.
- Secondly, it is the intent of the organization to provide the Chicano community a vehicle for addressing and advocating educational issues or policies which would increase knowledge and achievement levels for all Raza.
- Finally, the organization will sponsor and advance cultural awareness and understanding.
